Fair Funding Review – we are still expecting the FFR, business rates baseline reset and other reforms to be implemented in 2022-23. In this session we will recap on the latest proposals and the potential impact on local government. We will signpost the forecasting models and briefing notes that are available to subscribers. “Tax Day” – we will consider the Chancellor's announcements (23 March) on a range of tax consultations and long-term policy intentions. Reform – or even replacement – of business rates and council tax might be part of this announcement. Dan Bates - LG Improve
Financial Resilience Index – ahead of the Fair Funding review, we will look at the financial health of Local Government using analysis from the LGi Financial Resilience Index. Council tax 2021-22 – we will analyse the CTR1 data (due to be published in late March) and provide an analysis of band D changes and taxbase changes and compare this to the Government's Spending Power figures. |
